EcL background
The Reference Laboratory for Escherichia coli (EcL) was created in 1981 by Dr. John Morris Fairbrother, professor in the Department of Pathology and Microbiology of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of the Université de Montréal . The EcL was designated in 2006 by the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) as a Reference Laboratory for Escherichia coli.
The OIE is the intergovernmental organisation responsible for improving animal health worldwide.
It is recognised as a reference organisation by the World Trade Organization (WTO). www.oie.int >>
